I love Toshiba and this is the 3rd Toshiba laptop owned in my family. Wifey has a A series and I owned an old, old one years before that. only Issue I've had with this is that, one night I watched my Laptop tack a nosedive. Turns out luckily that, the motherboard died. It was still under warranty and now it runs cooler and alot better. It would seem that, when they mass produce these things, the systems just don't get the paste that goes between the CPU and cooler as they should, enough of it I mean.
But I have faith in Toshiba. So from here on out, I'll always mention how good Toshiba is. Nice forums BTW.

Welcome to NBR and glad to hear your a satisfied Toshiba owner.
I see you have Windows 8 installed; was that a user upgrade or did it come stock with it? If you did upgrade to Windows 8, did you use Toshiba's Windows 8 upgrade assistant; if yes how was it?
Sorry for the questions, just curious how well the Toshiba Windows 8 Upgrade Guide works.
Good luck and keep us posted with any updates. -
I upgraded it myself without a hitch. did the cursory pre install check to see what wasn't compatible with 8. uninstalled that software and purchased a key for the introductory offer until this month.
installation went without a hitch and the laptop took it very well overall. I like the modern UI but it's kinda senseless on the touch aspect as, this isn't a touch interface laptop. but I still use the modern UI
for news and whatever.
I also use the free Pokki startmenu app to utilize a start menu I have always come to love. I think the P series laptop can handle a user installation without an issue. It is a great mini office and great gaming system in one complete package. I would have sprung for a Qosmio system but being on a Veterans affairs medical retirement limits me somewhat
