Hello, I recently acquired an m65-s809. It only has 512 megs of ram and I would like to upgrade that to a gig.
Since it already has 1 512mb chip of DDR2, would I run into problems (like the AMD's) in mixing brands of memory? I hear this notebook can support dual channel so... any help would be appreciated.

I think it would be best to buy a 512MB DDR2 stick of a good brand like Kingston, Corsair or Crucial. Circuitcity.com had some good deals for Kingston DDR2 memory, with rebates.
I am not sure about dual channel support, though. Hope this helps. -
i have the same laptop as you and mine orinially came with 512 mb of samsung. i put another 1gb stick of kingston, and all is good.

The M60 with the newer Sonoma P-Ms should have dual-channel capabilities.

I have the M60 also and as soon as I purchased it I bought a stick of 1GB of Kingston Value RAM. It came with Kingston and works great. I would just recommend buying RAM that has a lifetime warranty, and a name brand is always a plus in my book.
