    Hello all,
I got a trojan virus a couple of days ago. I got the virus removed (as far as I can tell) and have run Ad-aware and a Registry Mechanic. I am running McAfee Corporate edition Anti-virus. Since I have had the viruses I have several things wrong with my computer that I need help fixing.

I no longer have the "Screen Saver" and "Desktop" tabs under the display properties.

I do not have the option to Hibernate or Stand-By. When I go into the Toshiba power options it does not give me the option to go into any mode except shutdown when I close the lid.

It is a Toshiba Satellite A105.

    Please help.

Dude you really should just clean install... Think of a virus like a tick. You can remove the ticks body easily, but it is hard to know if all its legs came out with it.

If this were a minor spyware issue I'd say a clean install isn't necessary, but with a trojan, you need to take all precautions. A clean install is easy and won't take more than an hour. It has the added benefit of making your computer run like new.

After a clean install head over to this thread:

Check out the free virus programs that are as good or better than McAfee. Clearly McAfee isn't cutting it.

Good luck and if you need any help with the clean install please post so, and I will do my best to help.
