Hey there! i am new posting to the forums but i have been around reading many helpfull reviews and thought someone could help me with my problem.

I have a toshiba satellite l675 i bought a couple of months ago. I had an accident and the screen cracked, the backlight stopped working with the cracked screen but i thought it probably damaged itself.

I ordered a new replacement screen online and when i connected it it displays but with no backlight at all. At first i thought it was the new screen so i ordered another replacement and same thing. I connected the laptop to an external monitor and everything works perfectly fine, it boots to windows and i can work around. I can see a very dark image on the laptop screen (no backlight at all).

The screen is an LED screen so there is no inverter on it. I dont know what to do. I oppened to see if there was something that looks burned on the motherboard but everything seems fine.

    What could it be?

I will really apreciatte any help! thanks so much!

It is possible that when screen was cracked, there was a short circuit in the backlight - this could've damaged the backlight circuitry on the system board, its quite delicate chips.
To rule out all other options, you may try replacing backlight cable. If this will not help, replaciing the motherboard will remaiin the only option :(

I am not aware of any plausible way to do it without having the board schematics...
