    Hello fellow Toshiba laptop owners,

Recently, I reformatted my machine for Windows 7 and recently I have noticed that the left speaker has stopped producing noises and only the right one does. My speakers are the harmon/kardon ones that come with this Toshiba model. Before I reformatted, the speakers were working fine so I am suspicious about the audio drivers. I tried the following to remedy the problem but it was to no avail:

    1. Installing only the audio driver that Windows 7 automatically installs.
    2. Installing both the audio driver that Windows 7 automatically installs and also the Realteak audio driver supplied by Toshiba Downloads support website.
    3. Installing only the Realtek audio driver provided by Toshiba.
    4. Installing only the latest audio driver provided by Realteak on their website.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? And how do I fix it?

    Thanks,
    ssvegeta184

As far as I can tell, it is a hardware issue. I think it is a design flaw within the speakers themselves. I have had the same problem with mine, in my A300. The only way I could get the left one working again was to absolutely blast the crap out of both of them with some music at the maximum volume. That usually sets mine right. After that it happens intermittently, sometimes it stays like that and sometimes it doesn't. If it bothers you, you can send it back to Toshiba to get repaired. I didn't, because I don't often use my speakers, and I didn't want to lose my notebook for up to six weeks.

Hmm, then I'll guess you'll have to try blasting the crap out of them. See if it works.
