I have a P105 and installed XP on it. My Sound Card is HD Venice 5045 or something. I offer you:
    1. If you can still boot Vista, take a look at Device Manager and find out what type is your Sound Card is.
If you can't boot to vista, boot your laptop with a live linux CD/DVD and type "lspci" in shell. you'll see the list of all hardware on all your buses. (use "lspci | more" )
    2. Search Toshiba support site for a notebook which have a similar Sound Card with windows XP! ;) it's done!

it's how I get my sound working
