Hi This is my fist post so please forgive my writing format![]()
I have a Toshiba A500 satellite with the Nvidia GT230M (harvey Norman custom)
Id like to OC the P7450 intel duo @2.13GHz
Im using SetFSB and have set the clock Generator to SLG8SP513V
In Diagnosis i tested the Clock Generator and it seems to work when i press GetFsb, but when i alter the FSB via the slider and press SetFSB it resets to 266
I then decided to edit the values in the Creator settings and Manually changed the FSB to 308 and pressed update. I then checked the results with the Diagnosis GetFSB button and it looked like the change had worked as the result came back FSB 308. But the CPU was still at 2128.1MHZ, unchanged from the 266 FSB default. I then Check With CPU-Z and discovered that the FSB was still at 266 even though SetFSB was reporting 308
Does anyone know a solution to OC this Processor or perhaps a work around?
Id be most appreciative of any help in succeeding with this venture

Sure, thanks for your interest
and one of CPU-Z showing that the FSB hasnt changed

I have never been able to find the datasheet for your PLL.
It's hard to overclock without it.
My guess would be that TME is enabled (if it is bit 6 of byte 9).
I think your only chance would be a pinmod, something like this:

Again, it's very hard without the datasheet. -
Thanks For your support Moral Hazard, ill look into PLL pinmod
UPDATE. i used Sandra to diagnose my Mainboard and it said under Clock Generator, Yes to Programmable and yes to Read back support, so i dont think its TME is enabled. So it should be able to software OC. But im going to need the PLL -

Your PLL's byte 9 is 65h=1100101b. If your PLL has the same config registers as an ICS PLL (likely) then we see bit 6=1, so TME is enabled, no software overclocking possible. Would need the TME-unlock pinmod in Moral Hazard's thread.

I was afraid of that
Im under warranty so ill have to leave it alone for now. Im planning on putting a T9900 @3.06ghz in a month or so but thought it would be nice to see how far the P7450 can OC and remain stable. Though im not willing to void warranty in the pursuit. Still i must say you have all been very helpful so thanks again

You might want to get the E8435 or E8335:

Hey thanks for the link, looks good. And apart from the locked multiplier its the same as the T9900

Actually the T9900 also has a locked multi.
The CPU is exactly the same as the T9900, the only difference is the TDP and I wouldn't trust that TDP anyway. -
Im going to have to Google what a TDP is
though ill probably get lol
Thanks for your help again
