Have an old P25 that has been rock solid since the day I bought, when they first came out. It was delegated to surfing tasks a few years back.
This morn I came home and it was frozen and the HD was making a buzzing type noise. Not the type of HD failure noise I am familiar with. I'm assuming some type of bearing failure.
I replaced the HD with a backup drive that I had and all was well for a few hours then the backup drive started to do the same thing. Coincidence???? Or is it possible for the laptop to over/under power the hd and cause it to fail. At this point I have one more backup drive I can try but I’m really hesitant to try it and have it go bad also.
