    I saw this:

    http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=86456

"Yes. With SLI enabled you can still run PhysX. If you have two cards in SLI and a 3rd dissimilar card, you can run PhysX totally on the 3rd card. Or, you can disable PhysX and run it on one card and user the other for graphics. Likely, the best performing option is going to be leaving SLI enabled and running PhysX."

yes I have 2 260 gtx in sli and i have my 8800gt for physx
new physx driver are out to http://www.overclock.net/software-ne...ml#post5317753

EDIT: Is there any point as well? Can the 94 even give reasonable physx support?

    Nobody?

I was hoping someone with a 706/708 would try to run SLI and then physx on the 9400GT.

If you go to Nvidias site and look at the tab products supported for 179 drivers the q706 and 708 are not supported in this release. Hybrid sli notebooks are currently not supported by Nvidia. I have experimented with various Laptopvideo2go drivers that enable physx but still don't know how to dedicate the motherboard gpu for physx.

i hav a slightly related question the x305/x300 with the nvidia 9700 gts : the gpu supports hybridpower, according to nvidia, does this include the qosmio x305x300 aswell, does this mean that there is an intergrated graphics chip (9100m) onboard ? or is there only one gpu onboard (9700m) ?

Nvidia is really screwing the pooch by forcing their chipsets on consumer to run SLI. The P45 express chipset allows full crossfire support, so why not SLI? because Nvidia is trying to corner the market, but they are forcing an alliance between two powerful rivals, ATi and Intel. I dont know what AMD has to do with this, but I do know that intel chipsets support crossfire, while SLI is disabled through software with the exception of the Desktop Intel X58 chipset.

The 9400m g cannot be used for physx because it is integrated chipset graphics--it borrows from system memory, 258mb. 256 for 9400m and 2mb for turbocache. Installing drivers other than Toshibas can be tricky because they should be installed in power saver mode then restart, switch to high performance so the 9800m gts's can be installed. When you are in high performance mode, what do you see under display adapters in the device manager? I suspect that your drivers are not properly installed.
