    Dear Educated Laptop Specialists:
Well i was looking around on the internet for a new laptop I do not want recommendations but rather the fine opinions of you gentlemen. The Toshiba Qosmio G25-Av513 struck me as very intiguing and I would like your opinions. The media center features and the pure layout with touch buttons, nice big creen and Instant Windows Bypassinf DVD player were very unique and I like them please inform me of what you think of this laptop and tell me why you believe what you do.
    Thank You Very Much

This machine is clearly the top of the line media center notebook. It has a great screen, excellent speakers, and good cpu. The GPU is the mid range (from a gamer's perspective) Go 6600. For the rest of us, it is more than adequate.

The downside is that it weighs 10 lbs, and is two inches thick. And for the price, you could buy a respectable media center desktop, plus a thin and light notebook. But if you need to be able to carry around a media center PC, this is truly the best.

The Qosmio is an excellent multimedia machine, with the best screen of any laptop. A bit expensive for what you're getting though.

Also look into the Fujitsu N6220, it's a comparable 17" notebook. Asus Z83V is a good option as well.

I took an in person look at that Quosimo when I was considering pure desktop replacement potential, and researched it. I might have continued considering it, but I found the keyboard clunky (as in awkward) with the touch pad too far below the keyboard for my hands. That may not be the case with others. It was a very pretty display, though.

It has the absolute best display I have seen in any notebook, period. It is insanely bright and crisp. Everything else was great too like the keyboard and speakers. Its just the screen that keeps popping into my head.

It just keeps reminding me of what notebook Darth Vader would get. ;)

I'm not fond of its piano black glossy finish though, it attracts fingerprints like crazy.

Our family has the Qosmio G25 and it is absolutely terrific, espcially its screen and speakers (The Speakers BTW are the largest out in the notebook industry right now). I though its keyboard was well made and was easy to type on, although I still think ThinkPads are better, but is still top on my list in the terms of typing. The touchpad seems to be in the right spot, although slightly off center to the left. The GPU is adequete for almost everyone, barring Super-Gamers, and will run most all games at medium to high settings. The only downside is that this notebook is fairly large and thick, as others have already mentioned. However, Toshiba has dropped the high $3000 cost down to $2500 (which is still a lot), but many stores and retail centers are giving rebates with this new price, so it brings the total down to something closer to $2000-$2100.

Do a web search. You can use shopping bots such as bizrate.com, and also look at websites for any retailers near you, such as Circuit City and Best Buy, and whatever else might be in your area. The Circuit City near where I live was carrying it for about $2600 a few weeks ago.
