    I have a toshiba toshiba l305d-s5934 ( l305d - s5934 )
It is having serve over heating and locking up problems.
Whenever it gets to hot, the screen just goes blank ( black screen with back light on). Is generally unresponsive. Only way to shut it down is to hold the power button. pressing power button once, which usually starts the shut down does nothing)

I completely disassembled it to clean the fan and reapply thermal paste, and there was basically no change.

I tried to use rmclock to either underclock it or undervolt it, but most all of the controls are greyed out. any suggestions would be great

Do the heat sinks and heat pipes look ok? any damage/cracks?

Are the fans working at full speed? Do they sound slower than usual?

Are you sure there is good contact between the heat sink and CPU/GPU? Did you apply too much paste?
