Can anyone give a newbie laptop owner (first one) some pointers on making the Hotkey functions work under XP SP2? I just bought my first laptop---Satellite P205-S6297---and am less-than-impressed with the lumbering monster they call Vista.
I've got most all the XP drivers installed, and XP is running flawlessly, but not having those function keys is like buying new car with one power window not working; it doesn't prevent the car from getting me where I want to go, but it's there, so I want it!
I'm especially interested in getting the F6/F7 Display Adjustment keys working correctly, but I have absolutely no clue where to look for such a driver. Can someone help?![]()

If you have the Toshiba Battery Saver, you can adjust the screen brightness from there by playing with the settings on you current power saver profile.

I guess I don't have that. I have no idea what you're talking about.
But thanks anyway...I'd really like to get these Hotkeys working, even if I could find a driver that worked with an older model. -

Thanks again...
Went to install it and got a "Toshiba: Common Module not found" error message. Any idea what this means? Is there something I should install from the Vista setup disk that came with the laptop?
This might actually fix the Hotkey problem if I can ever figure out what that "Common Module" thing is... -
Okay, well, I'm a little closer than I was...
Did some digging on the Toshiba support site, and found a Common Modules driver that installed on my computer; once I had that installed, the Hotkey Utility installed without a hitch.
Now the problem is that I have the Hotkey tray icon, but it has the little red warning sign, like it's not functioning (which it isn't, by the way). The FN keys still don't work, either, even though I installed the Hotkey Utility.
So I'm getting warmer, but I'm hoping someone will point me in the right direction to finalize this issue and put it to rest!
