im just putting out a friendly psa saying burn your recovery discs using the hidden partition on your harddrive. and then burn a extra set of copies of the discs 1,2, and 3. my harddrive for whatever reason decided to crash and becuase it crashed the partition was wiped hence rendering me unable to burn and recover the partition and discs.

i had recently burned discs but they got scratched and the laptop was unable to recover the data on them, so i was stuck, i checked the toshiba website and they want 25.00 for new recovery dics.

i was able to get some scratch out and after numerous tries i was ableto go through all the discs and restore my laptop thankfully.

i put my discs up but my son got ahold of them and they got scratched,so im just putting a message out there saying if you already have a x505/x500 or are preparing to buy one, please be sure to make the recovery dics and make a second copy of them just in case. this will save you the aggravation of having to order and wait for dics from toshiba.

That was literally the first thing I did after booting up my laptop the night I received it. You cannot be too careful and I was more than a little pissed off at Toshiba for not providing, free of charge, the discs to bring my PC back to factory specs.
