    Hiyas,

I am a noob to this forum and seeking a new laptop that is well-suited for one thing--Photoshop CS5.

I haven't own CS5 yet, but will be in a month or so. I read a few articles about system requirements, but there are not enough sources :(. I have narrowed down to the final two laptops--Vaio Z and Toshiba R700. Both are desirable to me because weight is super-important to me. I travel with a lot of camera equipment, which they are heavy enough as it is; throw in a standard-weight laptop would be torture for my back.

I am not a gamer. I just want a laptop that is ideal for Photoshop CS5 and nothing else extra. Also, I don't really mind the screen quality, so either laptops would not be an issue.

So, I want to ask this question: Would the Vaio Z be an advantage over the R700? I ask this because the only big difference is the absence of discrete graphics in the R700, and I realize the Vaio Z is several hundred bucks pricier.

I'm curious what you decided on this. I own the Z11, which I think is a very fine machine. However when I bought it, the R700 did not yet exist. I'm not sure which I would have bought had both been around, but I have to think the R700 with the i5 would have gotten the nod, given that I rarely kick in the nvidia graphics on the Z11, so that aspect is kind of lost on me.

I just ordered an R700 for my son for college, so I guess I can compare them when that comes in.
