Just installed Norton's Internet Security Professional. I get an alert every few minutes or so that pinger.exe/toshiba ?? is trying to access the internet.

I have been blocking this each time and almost checked the box that says always use this action.

What exactly is this program and should I always block this??

Yeah, it just checks for software updates from Toshiba. Nothing harmful you can leave it if you want to or you can disable it in the start up programs list(Start-->Run-->msconfig(click OK)-->Start Up Tab-->Uncheck pinger.exe & restart). This should disable it from running at startup.
