I just got my X205-SLi1 today and install Portal and Team Fortress 2 immediately, however, I can't get either games to work in SLI mode.
When I launch the game, I can see the Valve logo (the guy's head and the red gas valve), then the screen just keep flickering (kind of like it's trying to change the screen resolution repeatedly), then the program just stop running.
I updated the driver to 163.75 already....
Any idea? Thanks a lot!

Hmm, not that it'll be any help, but they work beautifully on my SLi1, running the 163.75 drivers and SLI enabled... I am running a clean install of vista, and ran through several tweak guides and installed all the windows updates, but other than that haven't had any problems at all with any game I've thrown at it, including the orange box...

For your clean install... did you just use the key on the sticker after selecting ultimate? I was thinking about doing a clean one when I get back home. TF2 probably needs to be patched for SLI. You could also try 163.71. Those were specific to TF2.

I did, used the one on the bottom of the laptop... in fact, when I entered it, the version of vista I had was already selected... I used a "Vista upgrade anytime" disc... then just activate it once it's installed
btw, my version is Home Premium, not ultimate since I didn't get the SLi3 -
did you download ALL of the drivers from Toshiba, before you did the clean install, or did you need them? I'm wondering if the Toshiba driver patches will even work, since it may not recognice the Vista as an OEM install if you do a clean install.
Even after removing the bloatware, my machine still feels very fluggish (sli3). Bioshock runs like crap, even with graphics low setting and DX10 shut off. -
I used all the ones applicable to my system (SLi1); chipset, networking, sound, and they install just like they're suppose to... I didn't use any of their programs or tools, but pretty much anything noted as driver I installed, and then ran windows update and that updated one or two if I recall, not to mention installing all the vista fixes. Only one I really HAD to have first was the network drivers so that I could then download the rest, so I just threw that on the second hard drive and then started downloading and installing one by one till everything was working... they didn't care though how i installed vista, they are just driver install files.
As a side note, system does feel very responsive and Vista runs great... did go through a couple basic tweak guides and disabled indexing and some other odds and ends... definately much quicker than out of the box, so maybe you're missing a driver or two... and in Bioshock, when i was testing the SLi1 in the demo, at the plane crash in the water with the fire and swimming around and getting to the stairs and tower, FRAPs was showing anywhere from 25-35+ running 1440x900 with the settings all turned on excpet force lighting or something, can't remember exactly what it did or what it was called, but that was the only thing not maxed. So, not super great by any means, but it looked pretty and ran plenty smooth to play. good luck, lemme know if ya need anything else
-Am using the Nvidia 163.75 drivers from laptopvideo2go with SLI enabled, haven't done any testing with the Toshiba version of the video drivers, never installed them with the new vista install yet -
This may or may not be relevant, but I have found that on my X205-9359 (non-SLI) if I let the Valve splash screen and other subsequent ones (Sourse, NVidia, etc...) play through, I got a very similar problem to what you are describing.
Simple solution worked perfectly - when I start the game, when the Valve screen shows up, I hit escape, and then get the main game loading screen (blurry image), followed by the main menu.
All the games in the Orange Box play beautifully at native resolution.
BTW, I am using the Toshiba stock drivers still, with no issues (I have little time for gaming as it is, none for tweaking unless necessary).
Hope this helps!

X205-S9349 with 169.09
The hit escape on Valve screen work around worked for me.
Great site, love all the info thanks everyone!
