Both my PCs are quite old now. My desktop PC (which I built myself) is around 8 years old and my laptop is a Toshiba S5100-501 (about 5-6 years old). For all that time I've struggled with both machines only offering USB 1.

Then, a week ago, I discovered to my delight that the desktop machine will actually support USB 2 simply by upgrading the USB driver!!! Now the USB ports zoom along, leaving the Toshiba laptop in the shade. But this got me wondering if the same thing might be possible for my laptop? Anyone happen to know?
