    Please can someone help.
I have a very old Portege 7220 and it is still useable.
I recently decided to wipe the hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro.
Everything was fine I created a new sector and was doing well until Windows started to reinstall.
It would appear that the copy that I have is on a CD which looks as though it has been in a war.
It gets to a certain stage then trips out with an error and will not go any further.
If I reboot it then ask for me to reinsert the CD again to enable restart to continue but as soon as I get to that certain sector on the CD then it just trips out yet again.
I am going round in circles with this issue and am in need of some inspiration.
Can anyone please help me to get ovet this issue.
    Thanks in advance
