    Hi all,
I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on my situation which I've detailed below:
I own a Toshiba portege R30-A-1CQ ( http://www.toshiba.co.uk/laptops/portege/r30/portege-r30-a-1cq/) which comes with a 4100M. I purchased a used 4210M and installed it but the computer doesn't power on - absolutely nothing happens.
On paper it looks like the two parts are compatible with each other, but now I'm unsure if I've missed something, if the CPU's faulty or if it's just the Toshiba being fussy. NB: the R30-A-1CM comes with the 4210M ( http://www.toshiba.co.uk/laptops/portege/r30/portege-r30-a-1cn/) and my research suggested that the CPU was the only difference between the M and Q versions. I originally tried this with BIOS version 4.40, but I've just tried with 4.50 which has made no difference.
Has anyone managed to upgrade the CPU on the R30 or can anyone think of anything I might have missed?
    Cheers,
    Andy.
