Even when the CPU usage only 3%! =( Is there any Soft to control the fan to, for example, Quiet Mode?

I'm not sure if it works on laptops, but on many desktops, speedfan is a pretty good program for throttling fanspeeds

It may be the same very small fan as in the R500 and has to spin fast in order to do anything useful. Slowing the fan will increase the heat.

I suggest you look into undervolting the CPU. If you can reduce the voltage then there will be less heat and less work for the fan.

Hmm, Undervolting is a good idea. But R400 already used an ULV processor, so I think I can't get any improvements (below 0.975v)...

The best I could do on my R500 was to put all the voltages down to the lowest setting. That made no difference to the idle power and fan noise, but made a small reduction in the fan activity when the CPU is under load.
