    Portege R830-x3310 cougar point issue?

    Hi,

    I brought a new toshiba laptop Portege R830-X3310, below is the spec link:

    i want to know if anyone can help me find if this laptop has cougar point issue which intel did a call-back, i called toshiba customer care (india), but they have no info on this.

    I did run hwinfo and found motherboard with below details, only one place it says B3 stepping, rest inside it still says B2 stepping, can someone confirm if my new laptop which i brought just yesterday has any defects? b.w i have put Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD (6.0GB/s), everything seems to be running fine.

    You can't trust the 3rd party hardware reporting programs as they still say B2 for most manufacturers. [my Qosmio has B3 stepping, but is reported as both B3 and B2, like in your case].

    The best way to check is to find out the date of manufacture [I think it can be found on the underside of the laptop or the box it came in].
    Anything manufactured AFTER February 2011 [that's right over 1 year ago], is not affected [the recall was January 2011].

    @alexUW, Thanks....manufacture date says "April 2012", it looks like there isnt any issues after-all.....

    b.w i am having problem with bluetooth drivers, i am running windows 7 ultimate 64bit with all stock drivers, but when i try to add Dell BH200 bluetooth headset it says no drivers found, can somebody help me.....
