ok well recently i went out and got some new ram because i wanted my laptop(Satellite A20) to be faster. before it had 512mb(2X 256 sticks) so i went out and bought two sticks of 512. I had finished installing the ram to then turn on the computer and found out that it worked half the speed that it used to, I thought that it might have been the ram so i decided to put the two sticks of 256 back in and just ran even slower so now i cant go back to what it was before. The CPU is constantly run at 100% and you can barely run one program at a time. Has anyone ever had this problem or can anyone help me ot it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I have had a similar problem...I've got a Toshiba A135-2326, Vista Basic, came with 512MB, so I installed 2GB-each 1GB (you'll need at least 1GB to have anything decently fast that can handle Vista). Anyhow, 9 months after I installed my new RAM, I started getting errors...
What I would suggest you do, which is what I did, is to run the Memory Diagnostics Tool which is in the Control Panel, it'll reboot the computer and go through a number of tests, and if you really have a memory problem, it'll tell you once it boots back up to Windows.
Hope it helps...at least it's a start.
