    Hi all,

I hope someone can help me out with my problem. My Toshiba Satellite's screen broke so I bought a new one and replaced it, well then the screen came on but was real dim, I could just make out the screen if a shined a bright light on it. I then plugged it up to an external monitor to make sure my video wasn't going out. It worked fine. So, I went and ordered a new inverter and replaced it. Well, the screen is still dim although not quite as dim as before I think.

I am baffled as to what it might be. Some online suggestions say that there might be a backlight switch problem but I can't find out where this switch or button might be. HEEELP.

I honestly have no idea. Maybe take it into a shop and see if they can tell you if the screen is ok or not.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping to avoid having to do that but it seems like that is my only choice right now. Gotta love technology huh, when it works it's wonderful but when it goes on the blitz, watch out
    ;)

The only thing I could suggest is trying the function key to brighten the screen. (fn + f7) on mine. Maybe its just dark. When your old screen was broken did the pc still work? Did the screen come on ok (aside from the cracked screen). I ask because with my old A205 the screen cracked (step on it), but it still worked fine. Is it possible to put the old screen back on to check. Maybe its a problem with the new screen.

Also is the new screen the right model screen for your lappy.

Thanks Scanner for replying. I did try the Function key to brighten the screen but no luck. Unfortunately I don't have the old screen anymore to test it out. But I'm pretty sure it didn't work.

The replacement screen is for the make and model of my laptop. The only difference is that it is matte finished instead of a Trubrite screen.

I replaced my screen as well with same issue. FN+F7 does not work. Toshiba is Junk in my opinion. Try this....

Go to your desktop and right click on it.
Go down to the personalize tab at the bottom.
Then click display on left lower portion of page.
Now go to adjust brightness tab on upper left side.
at the very bottom of the page you can manually adjust the brightness.

    Hope this helps you.

    Jeff
