Hello all, I'm new to this site. I just purchased the Toshiba Satellite U300 FA3 from Futureshop, and I tested out the DVD burner using windows dvd maker. When it was done and I played it, the DVD menu had a bunch of green blocks covering half the picture in the mini videos (I used the 'video wall' menu style, for those who've tried it). The actual videos play fine (which are avi files of two tv show episodes, by the way), with no problems, it's just the main menu and scene selection menu that have these green block things. I didn't have this problem on the first toshiba I bought (I had to exchange it for the one I have now, because of other defects, although it's the same model) but I did have this problem on the LG R405 that I also tried from Futureshop (the first two laptops I bought were defective, so this is the third one I'm trying). I dont know if this is a problem with the optical drive itself or windows dvd maker. Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I really dont want to have to take this one back, I really like it. Thanks!

i have vista ultimate on my a200-th7, and windows dvd maker works fine for me.
you could try reinstalling that program, sounds like the menu templates need to be reinstalled (i have no clue where they are in the system), failing that a factory restore of the system should fix it (you mentioned Futureshop, did you get them to make you a set of restore dvds? costs a lil extra but is sooooooo worth it, atleast for me as the recovery dvds i make never seem to restore properly, theirs works everytime).
Problem with either DVD burner or Windows DVD Maker?
