    Hey guys,

ive had this toshiba p100-st9612 for about 1 year, and randomly one day the lcd monitor went black as i was working. i waited a few minutes and it came back on again. Ever since that incident its been going black randomly a lot, and for the past 2 weeks its been 100% black, ive been using an external tv for the display which works perfectly fine.

My first thought was that the problem is caused by overheating as it is a pretty power hungry laptop so i got a laptop cooling pad and the temperature has been reduced drastically. but same problem with the monitor.

I sent it into toshiba repair and they sent it back to me replacing the whole system board and the video card. same problem.

note: the backlight on the monitor is still turning on when the laptop is on/

any ideas? could it be a bad connection if the backlight is still coming on? tried shaking it a little no luck

if you have any ideas please let me know

    thanks in advance!

I would say the backlight itself is burned out.

    Hi,

I noed some problems witha thing call the inverter board.

I am having same problem with my c think it has got something to do with the connection to the screen.

Check out problems with toshiba 4600 in google and rad threads. Seems to be common problem in previous toshibas. Got same prob with my p100.

    Good luck
