I recently bought a usb sound card from usbgear but can't get it to work on my old A105. When I plug the card in, two things happen. First, the green on-screen volume scale pops up on the screen and won't go away until I unplug the device (the same green volume scale that shows up when you tap the upper-right part of the touch pad with dual-mode enabled, allowing on-screen volume control with the scrolling portion of the pad). Second, volume on the computer goes down to 0 within a few seconds with the device plugged in. If I click on the speaker icon, drag the volume all the way up, I can hear sound, but it the volume immediately starts to decrease and after a few seconds is down to nothing. I have tried uninstalling the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver (actually found two, one in drivers and one in add/remove programs, different versions, uninstalled both), Windows High Definition Audio Driver Package, and Toshiba Virtual Sound. Even with all of these uninstalled, I still get the same symptoms. Am I missing another audio driver I need to uninstall? What is responsible for the green on-screen volume bar?
