I have just bought a Satellite pro A300 with XP professional.
My router is a Netgear both at home and at work. At home my applemac is plugged into the Netgear and my wife connects wirelessly to it on her HP laptop. No problem.
At work a PC is wired in and a remote PC with a wireless PC card connects no problem. All I had to do was type in the WEP password.

The A300 had a 'wireless assistant' that came up with some options one of which was the sun and planet display showing networks available. When I tried to connect to my network by dragging from the sun centre to the planet icon it opened a window saying it could not connect because it was being used by another vendor. Same thing happened when i tried it at work. also tried to connect to another wireless network that was detected, same again.

With all the trying different options this wireless assistant sun and planet has gone and I cannot find how to get it open again.
Can anyone help me with this.
It is really frustrating, the remote PC at work is 10 years old, fitted a cheap wireless card and, bingo, instant access. Buy a wireless laptop and it won't connect.
