I just bought a Toshiba M55-S325, the computer is pretty good for the price, the screen is fine but the built is rather cheap if you ask me.

Anyway, so I found there are two problems with my M55

    1. Battery will not charge (it will stop charging after plug in for couple second), when the computer is running at full power, I have to switch the power profile to something else other than full power to have it state charging. The problem only occurs when the computer is running at full power.

    2. When AC adapter is plugged in, that's when either charging or running power from AC adapter, the mouse pad will act funny, it will sometime not pick up movements, but if you pull the plug away, it will work normal again.

Let me know if any of your guys got the same problem, thanks!

I would take it back and exchange it for another one, or try a different model. Sounds like a hardware problem.

Agreed - this sounds like a hardware issue. However, you could try updating the touchpad drivers and see if that does anything.

It seems like the power problem is stated in the M55 manual, it said that sometimes battery will not charge when consuming at full power. So this problem is solved.

As for the mouse, I am not sure yet, I will try to install a new driver to see if anything change.

I have to disagree with the build quality, or maybe my unit is exceptional, because mine is quite well built, in fact one of the best "consumer" notebooks I've seen. No flexing or anything of the sort.
I don't know about your problem 1, because I'm always plugged in with my notebook and I have no issue like you do with problem number 2. My touchpad has been just fine so far.

I have this laptop. This computer seems not good because I keep having start and shutdonw problem. I was told by the technique support that this is because the AC adaptor. However, I have no idea about this. I was told to check the hardware. I just bought this computer for only one month. And My old toshiba laptop has the overheat problem! I will never buy toshiba again!!!

Well built laptop. Mine did not experience either of the problems mentioned. People who experience initial hardware problems with a new laptop really should go back to the store, rather than assuming a design or manufacturing problem.

i agree with you rahul (not saying that you are wrong manielku), ive had several toshiba notebooks and theyve all been very solid in terms of build.

my current a100 i have been carrying around everyday in my backpack with my books...its been about 2.5 weeks and its like the day i pulled it out of the box.

but then again, nothing is perfect. what can you do, thats technology.
