I recently purchased an M100. After operating it for a day the wireless card started to freeze on me.
After reviewing some message boards in Europe, they were saying that ConfigFree competes with the Windows wireless program as to who should manage the wireless connection. So I disabled the ConfigFree tool. That fixed the problem for 24 hours.
The next day the wireless card started freezing again, so I ended up reformatting my hard drive. That fixed the problem for about 48 hours until today. (I did disable the ConfigFree tool again upon reformatting).
Today the wireless card started freezing again, so I uninstalled the wirless driver and reinstalled it after rebooting.
This seems to have fixed the problem - for now. I'm worried that this will stop working tomorrow.
My question: Has anyone else had wireless problems on the M100? Could I just have a lemon? I kinda like the ConfigFree tool and would like to use it.
Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Do you have the Intel card or the Atheros card? What exactly do you mean by it freezes?

I have the Intel PRO/Wireless 3946ABG Network Connection.
By freezing, it can happen two ways:
1. The wireless network will connect, and upon connection I open up internet explorer. When it starts to load the home page it takes a few minutes and then it goes to the default page that normally occurs when you don't have a connection. So it seems like once the browser opens, it loses the connection. When I attempt to double click or right-click on the wireless icon in the taskbar, nothing happens. When I go to the network connections space within "My Computer", I can't double click or right-click it either. Eventually I try to restart and the "Connection Tray" comes up as an "End Program".
2. When I turn the wireless switch on, it doesn't even connect. And when I try to get it going, or starts to look for the network, and then freezes as described above.

Ok. Another problem...which now leads me to believe it could be an issue with the task bar. I unplugged my computer last night and the little battery icon appeared in the task bar. I was testing out to see how much battery life I might get out of it. Within a couple minutes, I plugged the computer back in but the battery icon never disappeared. I went to double click on it...nothing happen. Right-click...nothing happen. It seemed to freeze again, and then I lost the wireless connection.
I think I have a lemon.
Still looking for advice though on what might be the problem.

My gf has the M100 with the Atheros card. Her internet explorer freezes a couple times a day. It happens on random websites. I don't think it has to do with the wireless card. I think it's software related.

Fair enough. But when the battery utility started freezing, a ton of red flags were raised. I've since brought the machine back to the retailer and got an HP.
Thanks for your help! -
mine wireless card is ok, I use only software provided by Toshiba
(XP managment sux) - no problems with the connection, however I don't use IE at all (only Firefox)
