i will try and give as much info as i can, if i leave something off please let me know if i can find it on my mechine.
okay, i bought this laptop 4 days ago, it has Vista home premium on it everything seems to work great except one thing. i cannot play ANY of my pc games on it. when they load they either say insufficiant video ram to run game or they will start up and you cant see anything its all garbled like the driver is not right. sometimes i will get a message on the desktop saying that the video card recovered from a fatal error.
what i have tried:
i have tried re-installing the video driver.
i tired updating the video driver using device manager
and finally i tried updating all the drivers in the device manager.
what am i missing? do i need to take this laptop back?
thanks in advance for the help and i am sorry this is my first postand i am already asking for help

I have the 135-4467 and I think you have the same card thats on mine - the integrated Intel 945GM chipset running the GMA 950 .. it doesnt support Hardware texture and lighting which means a lot of the newer games wont boot or error .. you should check intels site for game compatibility. checking reviews around and after running the program myself these laptops dont break 1k 3dmarks .. If you are using it primarily for games and can take it back you should .. personally I would have went with the Asus G1 but didnt want to take the 15% restocking fee. However I upgraded my memory and with 2gb of ram and a 2gb readyboost a lot of the games I play work fine for me (game emulators , Counter Strike 1.5 etc)
good luck -
Neo is right.
The GMA 950 is a crap card for gaming...unless the game is sufficiently old, it will not work well at all. I would take it back, read our GPU Guide, and then find a different laptop with a better gaming card. -
My company bought it for me. . .so i didnt really have a choice. . .but atleast i know that its built like that instead of this being defective
thank you for your help.
