Hi all, my laptops:
IBM T41 Intel Pentium M 1.4Ghz 256mb 40gb XP Pro
Toshiba Tecra A4 Celeron M 1.5Ghz 1GB 60GB XP Pro
my laptop is the toshiba, and the other 1.4Ghz IBM has a broken screen and hardly any keyboard left![]()
Anyway, my toshiba is a great laptop except two things:
1. It runs quite hot
2. It's battery life is appauling
Both of these are due to having 75W 5amphere Intel Celeron running inside. Now what i want to do is to remove the processor from the IBM T41 (the 1.4Ghz) and put it in my Toshiba Tecra A4.
A friend did the same except he brought a 2Ghz Pentium M and the battery life went from 1hr20minutes to 4-5hours depending on battery & screen settings.
Does anyone know how to disassemble the Tecra A4 as to remove the processor? - i can probably do it but was wondering if anyone had previous experience just to make it quicker and neater for me..? - I already have the 1.4Ghz out of the IBM T41 and is waiting in an anti-static box.
Any help is REALLY appreciated.

You can try looking at our "How to disassemble Toshibas" thread here on how to take apart your notebook. I would not recommend switching your notebook from a Celeron to a P-M or vise-versa however.
