I'm thinking of maybe purchasing one of these notebooks but have a question for anyone who has one or knows about them. How does this perform with the Mobile Intel Pentium M 1.10 GHz? Is it possible (or necessary) to replace the CPU on this notebook? and if so are there other Pentium M processors compatible with it?

    Appreciate any answers!

I guess it comes down to what you need the system to do or what you're going to be using the system for? The 1.1Ghz Pentium M's may be their ULV (Ultra-Low Voltage) CPU's, therefore it may not be compatible with other (regular/faster) Pentium M CPUs. A 1.1Ghz system should be able to handle standard office apps (Office, internet, watching DVDs, listening to mp3). Play games may be a bit lacking due to the graphics processor, although older games should work better than newer ones.

I had the R100 with the 900 MHZ P-M ULV - it was about as fast as a Compaq 2800 with a 1.6 GHz P4 in my experience. Don't let the low speed rating fool you. It played Counterstrike very nicely - so older games will be playable. Good for some light gaming.

I don't think you will be disappointed if you want something small and fast.
