I am considerng buyng the Qosmio 17" laptop
I have used the previous Toshiba, the P25-S676 - with the built in TV tuner and I find it excellent. This laptop is no longer listed on the toshiba.com web site although it still is listed at toshiba.ca (P20-QR7)
Any comments are really appreciated

The P35 replaced the P25. I'm not a big fan of the Qosmio simply because I believe it is overpriced and has a weak graphics card for the price you pay. I would suggest looking at the upcoming Fujitsu N6000 series for a 17" widescreen laptop that has instant on TV and DVD.

I have a model that just came out in Japan last week, and I love it. It has 2 80 GB HDD, 1.6 Pentium, and the Gforce 5700 (at only 64 MB, unfortunately, but i tested out doom III and it ran fairly smoothly at the lowest resolution). The screen is gorgeous and the perfomance is snappy. Supports all DVD formats, including dual layer. Having 2 HDD is a real plus becuase the system doesn't slow down when doing heavy activity on the second drive. The instant on features are cool and I tested out the recording of live tv etc., but I actually only use it when it is booted up. It has a nice feature where you can output the recordings, made when windows wasn't booted, into mpeg2 files. The remote control is very nice too, you can boot to windows, or turn on the Instant on TV player, and you can even use the remote control during the bios startup screen to choose different options for boot devices.

I agree in that I don't find it to be a very good deal. And the instant on claim is baffling. When did 20-30 seconds become instant on?
