Recently replaced hard drive on Qosmio F15-AV201. Then reinstalled windows XP SP2 from a Dell disc. All of this specific laptop's drivers then reinstalled from Toshiba website except audio (Soundmax), which has a problem:
Every time looks like it will install and then says error, driver missing, reboot system--this goes on in an endless loop. Still with no sound icon in tray, no sound device present.
I have found this Soundmax issue posted in other forums but no helpful answer. I do not have the original Toshiba disc anymore, so can't get the correct driver from there. Anyone know of a link to a different/working audio driver for this system so I can have sound again on the computer?
Thanks!

I have the same problem. The initial Win XP boot up works fine with the typical windows sound in stereo (I am not sure why I can even get this in the first place). However, I cannot get the multimedia audio driver to work. I get the BSOD if I try to install the Realtek AC-97 driver and get a driver not found error when I use the soundmax ADI WDM Audio driver Both drivers are the "supposed" drivers for the Qosmio F15-AV201 XP Media Center located www.support.toshiba.com site. I called and check with toshiba support to avail. Any advise is greatly appreciated.
