Personally I think this looks like it's worth getting over the F55-Q502.

I'm someone who wants the specs of a 17" within a 15" and this seems perfect for me.

    Specs:

Opinions? Anyone own it yet? (is it even out...?)

    There's a price difference of $400 between the Q502 ($1399) and the Q503 ($1799). For $400, here's what you get-

    Processor- 2.0GHz P7350 on Q502, 2.53GHz T9400 on Q503
    Memory- 3GB on Q502, 4GB on Q503
    Hard Drive- 320GB/5400rpm on Q502, 2x160GB/7200rpm on Q503
The Q503 also adds Bluetooth capability

I'm impressed that both models have the 512mb nVIDIA 9700M GTS graphics card. Especially considered that the 18.4" F50/F55 models only get a 9200M GS or GT. It's also nice to see that they're using a WSXGA+ (1440x900) display on both models. Honestly, though, most competitors have either a 1680x1050 or even 1920x1200 resolution...especially over the $1500 mark!

In my opinion, the Qosmio F55's are good...but the Asus G50 is even better for the same (or less) money! =)

FYI- BestBuy.com is showing the Qosmio F55-Q502 available but not the Q503 yet.

    Me again. :D

I just realized that you're in the UK, correct? The two Qosmio models you mentioned are from the U.S. product line.

For now, it looks like there's just one model- the F50-10Z on the toshiba.co.uk website. It is priced at £899 (VAT included) and it has the Intel P8400 (2.26GHz) processor. The graphics card used is the 512mb nVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT which is plenty powerful for all but hardcore gamers.

    Hope this helps!

Yep, I'm hoping they keep exactly the same spec when the Q503's eventually become available here in the UK. (I've found that sometimes they sacrifice some of the spec to add things like a Blu-ray player, just for example's sake, on all models instead of a better processor which is quite disappointing...)

Only the x300's are starting to become available so it will probably be a while before we even see the Q503 (despite what the Toshiba site says every store says the Q502 is still on pre order.

Thanks for the info, looks like the extra is definetly worth it :)
