    Hello,

I saw that finaly Qosmio G55-Q802 is on pre order on some wesite, like jr.com , toshiba direct and amazon. But the processor is only P7350 (2.0ghz) even though it is extra toshiba Quade core HD, but i think there are alot of stuff that are done by real processor. And seeing only 2.0GHz cool me down. Is there will be any model with better processor ? like p8600 ? or p9400 ? or even T9400 ?

    Thanks for your help :)

To my knowledge at this time Toshiba will only sell the Q801 & Q802 as preconfigured models with a base 2.0 ghz P7350. What happens in the future is anybody's guess. The real question about this computer is will the Toshiba HD processor automatically handle many tasks that the CPU would normally do without special software or modded scripts of some kind and in so doing is it faster/more efficient than a traditional Intel CPU for intensive calculation apps? The HD processor is interesting but just because it allows hand gestures and the like is not as important as understanding when and how it works with the CPU+GPU+Software Applications--I haven't found any comprehensive answers. I agree with you that the P7350 is very unexciting. At this time a Intel quad core maybe more useful than this set-up of CPU+GPU+HD Cell Processor.

where did you saw that ? and what processor it is ?

i ll do alot of video editing, encoding etc.. I know it has cell proc that take care of it. But i think it is limited to 1 or 2 codecs, so for other things i ll be stuck with 2.0ghz :(

Do you have any specs/details for the Intel T8400? Is it a quad core notebook CPU? I can't find any info anywhere...

I spoke with a Toshiba Direct CSR today and they said pre-orders are back-ordered through the month of August. The Q802 will begin to ship next Friday the 8th and Toshiba will ship more on the 22nd. The person I spoke with didn't know of any plans of these being customizable or what retailers may carry it. Maybe it will show up at a B&M retailer in the next week?
