Hi. Just a small question. I notice the higher-specced model of the Qosmio X300, the 11W has two 320GB HDD's. I guess the chassis of the models would be similar, so am I likely to have an empty HDD bay in the 11S? And if so, will the bios likely support RAID so I can add a second hard drive for RAID0 (speeeed yeah!) at a later date? Thanks.

I don't know, but I wonder if the 11W has any extra measure for the extra heat, because it also has a 9800GTX.

I believe the 11s has the 9700 GTS. But as I understand it, it does have a spare bay in it so you should be able to have a raid config physically at least.

Awesome. Raid SSD's anyone? :) Hehehe.

Also if it has all the cooling of the higher specced model, A) it should be able to cool the lower spec components better, and B) will support upgrading to the higher-end stuff later.

Anyways. I think my X300 is coming next week. I will certainly post a review and a few pics. I've found it mighty hard finding info and benchmarks for this so I've kind of taken a £1200 leap in the dark. More info coming soon.

Sorry for double post, but is the X300 sata300? Will it take one of the OCZ Core SSD's?

    Thanks guys,

hey, i just got a list of the latest shipments coming into Saudi Arabia of Toshiba laptops and my eyes were fixed on a Qosmio X300-11u. now im not quite sure what that is, i mean i do know about the Qosmio X305-Q701 on Toshiba's website http://explore.toshiba.com/laptops/q...X305/X305-Q701
, and i did a search on that model on their websites but nothing appeared. here are the specs of Qosmio X300-11u:

    -Core2 do T9600 (2.8Ghz) 1066Mhz
    -2GB DDR3+ 2GB DDR3 (1066Mhz)
    -320 GB (5400rpm) + 320GB (5400 rpm) SATA
    - 17' wide XGA+200CSV
    -DVD-super-multi (+-R DL)
    - NV NB9E-GTX GDDR3 (1GB)
    - intel 802.11 (a/g/n) 13ch-SP 1x2 BTO
    -Works & office_HST_Trial_DB
    -Vista 32bit home premium
    -and it's 3253.3 $
this is exactly what's written on the sheet of paper, along with other Toshiba laptops ofcourse.
    so, what's a Qosmio X300-11u ?

    Hi,

    Have a look here;

    The Qosmio X300-11s Part # (PQX32E-00M00LEN) has the 9700GTS:

    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe....ervice=UK&PRODUCT_ID=1056666&toshibaShop=true

    £1,210.76 (inc VAT)

there was one vendor off their site at the "where to buy" link

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    The Qosmio X300-11w Part # (PQX32E-00P01UEN) has the 9800GTX

    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe....rvice=UK&PRODUCT_ID=1057359&toshibaShop=false

    £ 2,099.00 (inc VAT)

    The X300-11w comes with 2 x 320GB HDD's
Unless you get one from a different vendor, such as these:

    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe..../generic_content.jsp?service=UK&ID=00000037e8

    All Qosmio's can have 8GB's of(I'm hoping 1066hz) Max..
the, 512MB 9600GT (US model I have), 512MB 9700GTS, and 9800GTX with 1024MB, if they all can use 1,791MB of system ram, imagine how they will game with a 64 bit Vista Ultimate OS, and 8Gb's of DDR3 1066Mhz

    I hope Mine takes DDR3 1066, as it cme with DD2 800..well, it's(2X2GB DDR3 1066) on it's way..

    I hope this helps you!

    DejaVu

PS I saw no mention of RAID, but that doesn't mean anything.
My Qosmio G50 (has Raid 0 or 1)
