I just wanted to mention that I like playing Rage on my Toshiba better than on my Eurocom Racer with ATI HD6970M. Even though the Eurocom is a fair bit more powerful and quicker to do tasks, the overall gaming experience is just better on the Toshiba. Why, mmmm, the larger screen is just plain beautiful and for some reason I can control the vehicle better on the Toshiba keyboard. Less oversteer. Surprisingly the image quality on the Toshiba is stunning and in some ways better than on the Eurocom. Something else I want to mention is I now have a subscription to Netflix and its very pleasant to watch on the Qosmio as well. Great sound and the large landscape screen is just awesome. THis is a fantastic machine.

The only thing that would make it the perfect rig would be the Sandybridge chipset. If my mobo ever dies I know whats going to replace it. I cant believe the difference in speed between the i7s and the Sandybridge i7s.

Yup. The SB CPU is a big improvement; makes me envy the release of Ivy Bridge.

I said it before, but this machine works awesome. I bought BF3 last night and installed it and ran it at 2100 hours when it unlocked. I had no problems with the X500 at all. I wish I could say that about my Eurocom. I spent hours trying to get it to run on that machine. It would start but locked up during the splash screens. Every single time it would lock and I would alt/ctl/del to get out. Finally it was ATI tray tools causing the whole problem. So it wasn't the computer, but it sure was frustrating getting it to run.

BF3 looks totaly awesome on the 1920x1080 CCFL screen on the Qosmio. For a mid grade graphics card it runs awesome and looks spectacular. It also plays Rage flawlessly also. I watch Netfllix on this machine too and it is a great experience. If you ever have a chance to buy one of these you wont regret it.

Good to hear Skull :) I might pickup BF3 so this is great info for us x505 and x775 users. Can I ask which nvidia drivers you are using?

I know people dismissed the x500/x505 Qosmio due to the CCFL backlighting, but I got to say it still looks pretty good.

I also merged your RAGE thread to keep things consistent and tidy.

Yes I agree its sad to see Toshiba go down that road. But I suspect they have a lot less problems when users are not messing around inside there own laptops. But if they were built like Sager/Clevo where its a simple task to access the GPU it might not be a bad thing.
