I recently bought a Toshiba Qosmio X500-14H, and updated the BIOS as Tempro said. Unfortunately it failed. After searching the net for days I tried the Crisis Recovery Disk method which didn't work. I downloaded the latest BIOS update from Toshiba (v2.9) which is too large (2mb) to fit on a floppy.
I would really appreciate any help, I'm desperate, I have all my work database on it, and paid a lot for it.. I really need my Qosmio back.. :'(

i thought the BIOS updates from Toshiba run under Winphlash, hmm, my Qosmio X505 is running the 2.9 BIOS update, however i didnt have any problems updating, i just followed the instructions, which i believe were
    1. plug laptop into power source
    2. run the update
    3. DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING *LITERALLY*
    4. laptop will restart a few times
    5. check to make sure BIOS updated successfully by going into BIOS and checking for the new version e.g. mine being 2.9

Well I followed the instructions, but after the screen freezed for more than an hour I restarted it :/ ... Can someone submit a link where I can find an older BIOS update that can fit on a floppy disk?
