Hey everyone, this is driving me absolutely BATTY!

Is there a way to set the INS function so that it is on as the default setting? For reasons passing understanding, whenever I try to edit text it ALWAYS erases rather than inserts, which is making writing a real pain in the , to be honest, because as it is now I have to ALWAYS REMEMBER to hit the INS button, which I never do or it types over what I am trying to edit. This is causing me a huge headache.

Anyone know if there is a way to set INS as default?

Strange, I had no such issues with INS. But I did clean W7 install from scratch, as I always do.

I wonder if its something Toshiba cooked in their W7 custom install?

Actually, I think it is something I was doing, not Toshiba's fault. Because the black, glossy surface is such a fingerprint magnet, I find myself cleaning he Qosmio constantly. I am always wiping it down with a soft paper towel and Windex, and the keyboard, because it is a chicklet style, is hard to clean without using enough force to press in the buttons. So I am assuming that, without realizing it, I was pressing in the INS button several times while cleaning, and this was causing the problem I was experiencing.

I just took the machine out of hibernation now and the button worked fine.

I know this is going to sound moronic, but I don't think I've ever used the INS key a single time in my whole life. Can you give me an example of a situation where you find it useful?
