Hello, I'm new here. I'm considering getting a Qosmio F25 for school next fall, but I would need to upgrade to Windows XP Pro for network purposes. Does anybody see potential problems with this? I'm talking about the TV tuner, etc. Can all of the programs that it comes with function with Pro instead of Media Center? Thanks for any help in this matter.

    Comrade71686,

XP is XP...I have MCE and there are no problems regarding drivers or things that I cannot accept because I have MCE. The difference between XP Home and XP Pro is the advanced network options. You shouldn't have any problems.

Well, you'll loose the TV functionallity and the MC software in XP MCE. You'll need to get extra software (like WinTV) to watch TV on your laptop.

No, MCE, IMO is a fluffed up version of XP Pro without a lot of the security and networking features. It's actually a lot closer to XP Home than XP Pro.
