    Hey all,

Well I bought the x305 and am unfortunately going to be laid up for a bit after some surgery. I want to connect the sound from my x305 to my home theater and do not know how to do it. The Toshiba sight says the headphone jack doubles as a S/P DIF jack. But I do not see how since it is a standard 3.5mm jack. Would I need a special cable from Toshiba to connect from the headphone jack to my home theater to get 5.1 sound from the x305?

    Thanks for any help.

You need to get a 3.5mm to standard TOSLINK fiber optic adapter cable, or a 3.5mm to TOSLINK adapter plug and a standard TOSLINK fiber optic cable. My 5.1CH headphones came with a connector that did that, so I was lucky that they worked with my laptop out of the box. BTW the S/PDIF supports Dolby Digital or DTS, so it should work fine with your receiver once you get the optical cable and adapter plug.
