    Hey,

I was wondering if I should do some major stress tests on my Q894 and if there are any risks involved?

I've read on furmark, that some cards have died as a result!?!?

Any feedback/tips would be appreciated as I have never been able to do 3d benchmarks prior to this comp; thus I'm a complete n00b.

    Thanks

Haven't those types of tests been done alot? Maybe not for the Qosimos x505, but for the components GPU, CPU etc. on other laptops? Why risk your lappy?

Your right. I actually installed 3dMark11 and as I began to run the demo, I got a flash of a blue screen and a restart. However, everything "appears" to be ok. I uninstalled it.

I've been able to game very intensely on this (Source MAXED, SC2 MAXED, CS 1.6 MAXED). I think it was a fault with the program (3dmark said I needed to patch it, but decided to try to run it at least once before getting update; though failed).

Your right, why stress my hardware and shorten the life of it. Thanks for advice.

are you looking to stress test or benchmark your laptop? if you are looking to benchmark the laptop i like using the passmark performance test, it tests the cpu,2d,3d,memory,cd drive, and hdd.

for a refrence to another qosmio my passmark score is 1500 which isnt bad
