Okay, this is a rather odd question, but is there any way to disable the movement sensitivity on the Qosmios? I have a Q893, and whenever I am in a car it is an absolute nightmare! Every single LITTLE bump causes my games to stutter and my music I am listening to to make an odd noise for a sec before resuming.

Now I KNOW that laptop hard drives are made to be used in moving environments. None of my old gaming laptops ever "retracted the head" of the drive for every tiny little bump, and it is making using this laptop in a car really annoying.

Is there anything I can do about this?

    Thanks! :)

On your taskbar, open up the bar fully (press that up-arrow thingy), and click on the icon that looks like a stack of dics (it'll say HDD Protection). Open up the program by clicking settings, and set the protection level to Normal [level 2] or lower; or you can turn it OFF.

I agree, the high setting [level 3] is too freakin sensitive. However, I've never had a problem on the Normal [level 2] setting.

    Good luck

Thanks, Alex! That worked like a charm. I set it at level 1 because we were driving on some bumpy roads from Deleware back home to the Big Apple, and I didn't get a peep out of the laptop on the ride home. ;)
