I am myself looking for a laptop with these features and it seems to be a good deal, but it is too new to be reviews out there, if someone has bought it and can post any information on performance/issues good be nice.

Actually very curious as well, bought one of the ones that Office Depot had on sale for $799, the U405-S2824, slightly different specs, but was looking for something small and portable... they didn't have one in stock though, so it's supposedly arriving Tuesday. We shall see, I'll post some info when i get it, as I can find nothing online about these.

Hey, just in case anybody missed it, there's a review up for U405, seems to have faired fairly well for an affordable 13" machine.

I just bought a U405-S2820. It came with a 250GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM and Vista Home premium. I updated the RAM to 4GB with a $60 purchase from newegg and now have 2 extra 1GB sdimms. This is the 1.83 GHz Core Duo processor version.

I like it. It seems like the build quality is pretty good. For the price and compact size I couldn't find anything better equipped at the price. I don't use the camcorder nor the finger print device. I would use the finger print reader if I could figure out how to use it for passwords to my yahoo account, etc. I did figure out how to use it to log onto windows but didn't think it worth the effort. (I've also read that many people have had issues with it.)

One con- the keyboard is shiny so it shows greasy fingers like mine. I also uninstalled much of the trial software and other free-bee programs it came with. I wish I could partition the hard drive using supplied tools but there are none. I want the computer to start and run fast so I control what is loaded at startup (use autoruns or ace utilities).

So far the experience is positive.
