    Hello all!

I have a question I hope somebody could help me with. I am clueless, it's weird. Let me explain:

I have an old A135, which is 4.5 years old, running Windows 7. Battery still is working, but it lasts only about 15 minutes. I can still plug it to the wall, and it will charge to 100%. I remain 99% of the time plugged, as the battery is not reliable enough. The problem is the following:

At home, if I plugged the laptop to an specific outlet, the battery sometimes stops charging. It runs quickly out of battery (the icon says "Plugged but Not charging". The battery level reaches 0% and the OS does not warns me and suddenly the laptop of course turns off.

In that case, I have to keep the laptop turned off while the battery charges. If I turn the laptop on, the battery does not charge, and starts discharging.

If I remove the battery and turn the laptop on, the OS starts up, but before it finishes booting, already showing Windows 7 desktop, the laptop turns off. This makes me believe it might have a software problem.

The weirdest part is that the problem has happened to me in just two different outlets. If I plug it to most of the outlets, the battery charges with no problem.

    Any clue?? pleaseee? :(

    I actually have no idea.

If you do not get any other further assistance on the Toshiba subforums, I can move your thread to the hardware subforum, where others may be of more help.

Just post here if you want it moved.

If i understand correctly, your computer does work when connected only to AC-adapter.
I believe you should buy a new battery, 4.5 years for a li-ion battery is way to much :) Below is a nice website you can search for your battery at:

sounds more like an outlet issue at your house, as soon as the current draw goes over a certain amount the pc shuts off. it should never do that if it knows it has AC power

if its 100% only doing it on certain outlets then it has to be the outlet, not the ac connector on the laptop

have you tried it in any other locations, public or private that aren't your place?
