    Hello,

I was planning to buy the toshiba a100 in Hong Kong. Because the model numbers here are different from other countries I will write down the specs here: Satellite A100 - 03600D
Intel Core duo t2400, 512 DDR2, 100GB SATA, 15.4 inch WXGA, NVIDIA GO 7300 256MB turbocache, windows xp home edition.

My main question is about the xp home edition, since he told me that toshiba will only give me ghost version of this windows. However I want to have the XP edition, main reason is that I want to use the Chinese version. however I am not born in Hong Kong or in China, I can read and write Chinese, but I'm affraid sometimes I don't understand it and with XP I can change the language very easily to english.
However the salesmen told me that it was not possible, since toshiba will only give me a ghost version of windows xp home edition and the drivers were in there. So I wasn't able to get the drivers from the cd and also the drivers were not available on the website. I could find some drivers of other models from toshiba, the specs are close to above, however there are some differences. So I am affraid that these are not suitable.
Or you have some tips to change the language very easily in home edition.

I believe the salesman is wrong. XP, being a user-friendly OS, can readily change languages. Its actually in the Control Panel.

well I thought that one of the main differences was that the professional has multilanguage package and home has not. So if you installed the english version of home it will stay in english and if you installed the chinese version it will stay in chinese.
