Hi,
I'm new to the forums and was looking to purchase my first Toshiba Qosmio. I like the specs on the new x505-q8102 but am confused on the labeling from Amazon.
There is this one:
Amazon.com: Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q8102 18.4-Inch Gaming Laptop (Omega Black): Computer & Accessories
and this one:
Amazon.com: Qosmio 18.4" 640GB 1: Electronics
They are both sold by Amazon and was wondering what is the difference? I'm guessing the second one is the revised one and the first is the faulty one?
Thanks.
Edit:
The only difference I see is the added "x" to the end of the model name on the second one.
x505-q8102 vs x505 q8102x

They both have teh same Toshiba Part Number:
Which is the revised q8102X.
You can verify here: Qosmio X505-Q8102X Laptop
They both state that there is "Only 4 left in stock". I think it's just a double posting of the same computer.
If you want to be 100% sure, either call Amazon and verify, or buy the posting that has the "q8102X"
Good luck and keep us posted with results. -
I contact Amazon about this and this is the reply I got:
The newest and correct item is the ASIN:B004GTNCQK. The other ASIN:B004QOAHE0 is the older model with the sandy-bridge (note cheaper price). As far as the pricing goes Toshiba does not dictate our prices, our prices change at will if a factor is shifted. I will however be sure to submit something to get the older item's description page to alert customers that it is the in fact the older model.
I think he got the ASIN numbers mixed up though (the one he said was cheaper was actually the more expensive one marked q8102x). I'm still a bit confused but I'll go with the one marked q8102x! -
I sure hope Amazon is not knowingly selling defective Qosmio units. They should know better.
