I do a lot of presentations. Many of them are with people sitting next to me. So, I need a wide viewing angle.

    I saw this:

The Tecra M3 is also the world's first unit to offer an exclusive VACF (Viewing Angle Control Filter) LCD, which promotes security and private viewing even in the most public places. The chessboard-like screen pattern prevents side viewing

Is this something you can turn on and off or will I have extremely limited viewing angle?

    Thanks!

I believe it's a layer on the screen, so not something you can turn on and off. You might want to confirm this with toshi though.

I called Toshiba and the guy didn't even know what I was talking about. LOL. :p

Regardless, it doesn't have the glossy screen that I like with their other models. Oh well, cross that one off the list.

My M60 has a glossy screen, I got it with Trubrite, it is 17" so it is huge, I'm not sure if you want a M60, but they have an awesome deal on ToshibaDirect.com now, you get 25% off customization and 3 free gifts (carrying case, printer, and a wireless router). You can get a pretty good M60 for under $1500 if you buy the RAM elsewhere. The M40 also has the glossy screen option, and is the little brother to the M60, 15 or 15.4" screen on it.
