I have an R205 and had to reinstall XP due to a damaged hard drive. The warranty center did not have the recovery disk and I got tired of their doing nothing about it so I reinstalled XP Pro from the Microsoft CD and reinstalled the drivers I though I needed from the Toshiba web site (for and R200. Apparently Toshiba doesn't think and drivers are necessary for an R205 :)).

I have managed to get everything working with the exception of 2. I have 2 unknown devices.

The first shows the location as 'on Inter(R) 82801 FBM LPC Interface Controlle...

The second shows the location as 'on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System'.

I have searched Toshiba, Microsoft and Intel web sites and cannot find any answers on how to load the drivers for these devices.

Can anyone here steer me in the right direction?

I'm just wondering if you manage to solve the issue with your r205 since December '07 ? :)

I've got recovery cd's for my R205 bought on amazon. My friend's company r205 came with a dvdrw drive so I could burn mine. Unfortunately he had left that company and my drive was fried when attached to one of those great $3 1.8ata2ata adapters available on ebay. So I got myself a samsung ssd drive. The drive's fine. But computer says no when I try to use recovery discs. R205 doesn't seem to like the usb case with a regular disc drive in it. It boots from a recovery disc. Then after whichever option you choose, it's saying it doesn't like the disc drive, period.

So my question is what cd drive you used to reinstall xp pro on your R205?

    Cheers !
